Welcome to my Online Gallery!

A new chapter in my life…and my art…started in the summer of 2023. My family and I moved to Helena, a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. The landscape of rolling hills and dense trees is very different from El Paso, where I lived for 24 years. I am excited to explore Alabama and to include this very lush, green landscape into my new work in pastels and acrylics. I will continue to include my Borderland art of mountains and desert on my web site and other online locations. My memories of traveling in Mexico will still inspire my Dia de los Muertos and Religious folk art paintings.

Come and experience all this through my ART!

My Favorite Subjects

LANDSCAPES

Red Sumac, Pastel on Sanded Paper, 11x14, $400

I love to create in pastels & acrylics the beautiful and unique landscapes of the Borderland and beyond, including my new home in Alabama, in a traditional and a more graphic Van Gogh style.

CITYSCAPES

Pen & ink is my favorite drawing medium and I use these drawings in my mixed media collages of historic buildings. I like to paint city views in pastel and acrylic.

ADOBES

Simple adobe houses and village churches in pastel are my favorite views of the Southwest.

STILL LIFES

I use my favorite Mexican pottery and colorful flowers in a variety of still lifes.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

My many trips to Mexico have inspired my fun Dia de los Muertos work: bright colorful happy images of skeletons.

RELIGIOUS

I have learned many things about the religious life of the Borderland and Mexico while creating my Guadalupes, Saints & Angels, done in a Mexican folk art style in acrylics.
